 After two bad experiences in just six months rebuilding the transmission in my 429CJ Mach I Mustang at other shops, I went to the Better Business Bureau and found ROCK-ON Transmissions. Dave and Matt had a pristine track record with the BBB and after speaking to them, I knew I had found the place that I could trust my 429 show car to. ROCK-ON completely went through my C6 and upgraded it with competition clutches, custom furnace brazed torque converter and even a correct R code servo. They even found the annoying vibration I couldn't locate in the driveshaft and had it fixed too. The amount of time Dave took in adjusting the shift points was impressive and he continued to work with me until we had them exactly where I wanted.  I began talking to ROCK-ON while I was exploring my options to replace my transmission. I was blown away by their knowledge and customer service skills. After all was said and done, we decided that a LEVEL 4 4L60E was the best option for me, considering I take my car to the track almost weekly and I wanted something that could withstand the beating it takes at the strip. I needed a transmission that would hold up to all the abuse I could throw at it. My car is currently putting down about 450 rwhp and over 550 ftlbs. of torque. It will soon have even more and Dave said he could build me a tranny to hold it. I have been extremely happy with my choice to go with ROCK-ON.  Rock-on was a great help when my transmission needed a rebuilt. I was surprised at there level of customer service. It was a very busy week at work and not only did they pick up the car but they drop it off as well. I had my car back in a couple of days. Attached are pics of my 2000 WS6 A4 Trans Am dubbed the Phoenix. As you know, I was recently looking to get a high performance 4L60E to replace my overworked stock unit. The car has only 30K on the clock but 426rwhp/418rwtq toasted the stock tranny in no time!
After researching several companies that deal in 4L60E performance buildups, I came upon your company, Rock-On Transmissions. I heard nothing but praise for your product on many of the internet forums. After talking with you I knew that Rock-On was the choice for a new tranny for my black beauty.
I appreciate the trust you have in your customers – even to go as far as no upfront core charges! Thru several discussions we finally decided on your Stage4, vacuum modulated version for my application. The fact that you did not try to sell me more than what was adequate gave me a good feeling.
I am VERY particular as to the performance parts that I use in my cars – the fact that you dyno test all your units up to the rated HP level prior to shipping was further assurance of receiving a quality transmission.
I was impressed with the ingenious, sturdy shipping container when the unit arrived, but my real surprise was the performance realized once it was installed! The unit shifts noticeably more crisp than the stock unit thru all four gears during ‘normal’ driving – not the harsh shifting I was expecting. But wide open throttle is where this unit really shines! I am now able to break loose the 315/35-17 F1’s on the 1-2 shift easily – in fact I almost got myself in trouble quite a few times when the rear slid out on the shift.
Your customer service and attention to detail is by far, bar none - and way more than was ever afforded me by any vendor in my 28 years of automotive experience. You were available every time I called and had no problem talking with me as long as it took (even thru several of your lunches – sorry). The follow-up calls after my install to check on my satisfaction was greatly appreciated!
I will make sure to recommend your company to anyone that is looking for high quality and good ‘old fashioned’ customer service.
In closing, my dealings with yourself and Matt have been a pleasure. I wish to thank all the folks at Rock-On for bringing the performance back to my TA.
